Dear Parents/Guardians,
You may have noticed the two colourful benches in the top and bottom yard. These are our Buddy Benches. The aim of the Buddy Bench is to foster friendship within the playground.Quite simply put, they’re a designated bench where a child who is feeling lonely on the playground can sit, other students then know to come and ask if they want to play or talk. Sounds simple enough, and because it’s such a basic concept kids of all ages can take part.
Ms. Prendergast’s Senior Infants know the importance of friendship and looking out for each other. Check out the video we made to show you how to be a friend.
